Hello

My name is Brock. I'm a 3D animator in Kelowna. My interest in animation was born through the enjoyment of TV and video games and my enthusiasm for animation as a medium has only grown as I've developed my knowledge and skill.

I'm always eager to take on the next challenge and am excited to learn about new techniques, tools, and programs that can strengthen the work I put forward.

My Story

I was born in Vancouver but spent my childhood and early adult years moving around Canada, the US, and the Caribbean. Never living anywhere for more than five years at a time encouraged me to branch out, meeting new friends and finding new hobbies. One thing that came with me everywhere was my sketchbook and my love for drawing and cartoons. Some of my fondest childhood memories are sitting outside in the mornings with my dad and drawing on the porch.

In high school I always excelled in anything relating to creativity and art. I attended the summer art program at the Art Institute of Boston the two summers prior to graduating. It was a fantastic experience where I got to learn about drawing and fine arts both at a technical and conceptual level. This was also where I was first exposed to traditional animation.

I continued to pursue my love for art and drawing further by attending The Alberta University of the Arts in Calgary. I graduated with a drawing major and a minor in comic illustration. Soon after I turned my interest to animation and joined the 3D Animation program at The College for Arts and Technology in Kelowna. Starting with traditional animation we learned about the key concepts of animation, we learned the technical aspects of creating the product we want to showcase, and beyond that we learned how to create reference through acting in order to strengthen our work.
